In these paintings I explore different political ideas via the still life arrangement of different cups, glasses and other objects. I look at things like class warfare, heirarchy, different political ideologies, factions in politcal parties, how change is possible and the challenges for change agents. Different mugs and glasses take on particular political characters and are used in in different paintings to tell different stories. Some of the key character became single portraits. For example the red chipped enamel mug represented a radical left winger. While each painting stands on its own the collection as a whole enable a way to explore broader political ideas.
After this exhibition I continue to explore still life as a way to tell stories and explore ideas and these paintings are shown below in the "after still life gallery"
